Job Description

Main Purpose:

The IT Business Partner (ITBP) connects business and IT, ensuring technology solutions align with business goals and drive performance.

Key Accountabilities:

Strategic Alignment & Collaboration:

  • Foster Collaboration: Act as the primary liaison between business units and the Technology Group, building strong relationships and ensuring clear communication channels.
  • Shared Vision & Decision Making: Facilitate the creation of a shared vision for technology solutions and guide decision-making processes, particularly when navigating trade-offs between different platforms.
  • Strategic Recommendations: Analyze relevant information and develop insightful recommendations for senior management, contributing to strategic technology planning.
  • Compliance & Standards: Ensure all solutions are compatible and compliant with corporate technology standards, architectures, and solutions.

Solution Development & Implementation:

  • Business Case Development: Create compelling business cases for new technology solutions or change requirements, justifying investments and demonstrating ROI.
  • Business Analysis & Solution Design: Conduct thorough business analysis to understand requirements and prepare detailed recommendations for effective solutions.
  • Technology Utilization & Optimization: Utilize appropriate technologies, to ensure business needs are met efficiently and effectively, delivering solutions that are timely and user-friendly.
  • System Requirements & Development: Ensure the availability of necessary resources to support system analysis, requirements gathering, and development activities.
  • Solution Launch & Impact: Oversee the successful launch of technology solutions, maximizing their positive impact on the organization.
  • Project Prioritization: Collaborate with the Project Management Office on the intake process and prioritization of projects, ensuring alignment with company-wide objectives.
  • Project Scope & Timelines: Understand project scope, resources, and timelines to ensure timely delivery of systems.

Operational Efficiency & Compliance:

  • Process Improvement & Issue Resolution: Provide process and business solutions to support IT system needs and resolve issues faced by business stakeholders.
  • Service Quality Management: Monitor and ensure agreed SLAs between Technology group & business are met and contribute to the resolution of unmet SLAs

Innovation & Opportunity Identification:

  • Opportunity Evaluation: Identify, screen, and evaluate new solution opportunities to address unmet internal and external customer needs, driving continuous improvement and innovation.

Job Requirement

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, Computer Science, or a related field.

Experience:

  • 8+ years of experience in IT business partnership, IT consulting, or a similar role bridging technology and business.
  • Proven track record of leading technology-driven business transformations and delivering strategic IT solutions.
  • Experience in stakeholder management at executive and operational levels.
  • Hands-on experience in business analysis, solution design, and IT project management.
  • Familiarity with enterprise IT architecture, digital transformation, and emerging technologies.

Work related skills:

  • Strong business acumen with the ability to translate business needs into technology solutions.
  • Proficiency in IT governance, risk management, and compliance standards.
  • Knowledge of Agile, DevOps, and project management frameworks.
  • Ability to conduct data-driven analysis and develop business cases for IT investments.
  • Excellent understanding of IT service management (ITSM) and SLA monitoring.

  • Strategic thinking & problem-solving – Ability to analyze complex challenges and propose effective solutions.
  • Strong communication & stakeholder management – Capable of engaging with both technical and non-technical audiences.
