IT Technical Specialist, Network (Shift 3.00pm - 11.30pm)

Summary/Tổng quan:

• This is a technical/administrative position responsible for the Network and Server support through Help Desk methods and assisting with various network/server request and department tasks.
• Report to Information Technology Manager

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Under the general supervision is responsible for the following tasks:
• Maintain network printers/shares
• Updates Certs as needed
• Configure and update Proxy
• Configure and update DNS
• Configure and troubleshoot Edge and Core Switch issues.
• Familiarity with Cisco IOS firewalling, network level intrusion detection/prevention systems. OpenBSD PF or Linux IPTables a plus.
• Remote and hands on configuration of routers, switches, and cisco wireless networks.
• Virtualization experience, prefer VMware vcenter, VDS, Esxi, AWS, Azure. Skills in Xen, hyper-v, bhyve, docker compose, etc are acceptable
• Understanding of Unix/Linux command-line interface (CLI).
• Shell scripting skills (Bash, Python, or other scripting languages).
• Revision Control Systems
• Provide Network and Server Disaster Recovery documentation
• Troubleshoot Windows-based Server Raid incidents
• Create VMs
• Load and manage Veeam backup application/Servers.
• Level 2 resolution of CATA GAN/WAN incidents
• Responsible for researching current/future technology
• Occasional Network cable installation and maintenance
• Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

• A minimum of 2 year experience with a working knowledge of Networking in a mid to large manufacturing environment.  CCNA certification.  Above average communication skills (written and spoken English).  Must have an Associates degree in Networking/Windows Servers (or related degree) or have equivalent experience.  

Skill and Abilities:

• Possesses the ability to gather and analyze information and make decisions from a limited number of choices
• Above average English communication skills (written and verbal) to communicate directly with end-users
• Good problem solving / troubleshooting skills
• A minimum score of 20 on the Wonderlic Contemporary Cognitive Ability Test (If required)

Travel Requirements

• This position typically does require up to 10% travel
