Middle Data Engineer

Role Description

The Data Engineer is a mid-level technical role responsible for designing, building, and maintaining complex data pipelines and integration solutions across the company's centralized data platform. Operating with limited supervision, this role takes ownership of technically challenging workstreams, contributes to architectural and design decisions. The Data Engineer is expected to work confidently across the full data stack from ingestion and transformation through to modelling, quality, and governance, and to drive solutions forward independently when requirements are ambiguous or systems are complex.

Main task:

• Complex system integration and pipeline architecture
• Enterprise data platform and pipeline design
• Centralized data modelling and scoring frameworks
• Implement data quality control across all services
• Architect cross-platform integration and testing
• Analytics solution implementation and handover
• Conduct system compatibility assessments for deployments
• Deploy reusable automation frameworks and monitor usage
• Manage cross-functional project check-ins and tracking 

Education & Certifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or related field
• Relevant certifications in Cloud (Azure)/Data Engineering or Data Architecture are a plus

Experience

• 2+ years of hands-on Data Engineering experience delivering production solutions
• Strong Python and PySpark (distributed processing, optimization)
• Solid SQL (complex joins, window functions, performance tuning)
• Experience with Apache Airflow (DAGs, scheduling, monitoring, failure handling)
• Built end-to-end data pipelines on at least one cloud platform (Azure, AWS, or GCP)
• Experience integrating REST APIs (auth, pagination, incremental loads)
• Strong Excel skills (Power Query, complex logic analysis)
• Good understanding of data modelling (star schema, SCD, fact/dimension)
• Good English communication
• Experience with DBT and modern data stack tools
• Exposure to streaming/real-time tools (Kafka, Pub/Sub, CDC, Fivetran)
• Experience integrating ERP or internal systems
