We are looking for a proactive and experienced Legal & Compliance Specialist to join the Group Legal & Compliance Team, playing a key role in designing and driving a centralized compliance framework across Galaxy Digital Holdings and its subsidiaries.
This role primarily focuses on compliance management (70%), ensuring that business operations align with regulatory requirements and internal policies. The role also provides legal support (30%), particularly in commercial and regulatory matters.
Responsibilities:
Compliance Responsibilities (70%)
- Design and implement a risk-based compliance framework across the Group, ensuring alignment between centralized policies and business unit operations.
- Organize and deliver training and awareness programs to embed a compliance culture and ensure employees properly implement internal policies and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct compliance monitoring and assessments to identify and mitigate potential risks, evaluate adherence to laws and internal policies, and coordinate remediation actions.
- Stay updated on regulatory developments and assess their operational impact on business activities.
- Act as a focal point to coordinate with other departments, ensuring consistent compliance practices across the organization.
- Support regulatory reporting and coordinate responses during inspections or audits as required.
- Maintain comprehensive compliance documentation on SharePoint according to the company’s document management system and robust audit trails.
Legal Responsibilities (30%)
- Provide legal support on technology-driven business models, including fintech, e-commerce platforms, digital services, and outsourcing structures.
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide variety of commercial agreements, including NDAs, IT service agreements, partnership agreements, and outsourcing contracts.
- Provide legal advice on corporate, commercial, and technology-related matters, ensuring alignment with business strategies.
- Stay updated on relevant legal and regulatory changes, particularly in areas like data privacy, eKYC, cybersecurity, and consumer protection.
- Handle other ad hoc legal tasks as assigned by the Line Manager.
