Job Description

This position plays a crucial role in maintaining and supporting the Electronic Design Automation (EDA) tools used by the Electrical Engineering (MEE) study program:

1. EDA Tool Maintenance and Updates

  • Regularly update and maintain EDA tools, ensuring that they are up to date and accessible;
  • Monitor and troubleshoot any issues related to software or hardware and provide timely resolutions.

2. Licensing Management

  • Manage EDA tool licenses, ensuring compliance and efficient utilization;
  • Maintain accurate records of licenses and renewals.

3. System Administration

  • Perform system administration tasks on Linux CentOS to optimize performance and security;
  • Maintain system backups and recovery procedures.

4. User Administration

  • Manage user accounts and permissions for EDA tools and the learning platform;
  • Provide user support and address user issues promptly.

5. Learning Platform Support

  • Assist in the setup and maintenance of ECE and MEE modules on the learning platform;
  • Ensure that faculty and students have access to necessary course materials and tools.

6. Online Visibility

  • Support the maintenance of online visibility for ECE and MEE study programs, particularly IC Design;
  • Update and maintain web content, including program details and resources.

7. Lab Support

  • Assist in practical training of students in lab classes related to IC design;
  • Ensure EDA equipment is functional and provide technical support during lab sessions.

8. Research Project Support

  • Collaborate with faculty and students on research projects involving IC design;
  • Provide technical guidance and assistance in project implementation.

Job Requirement

1. Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field;
  • Relevant certifications in Linux system administration or EDA tools management are a plus.

2. Experiences: 

  • At least 2 years of experience in Linux system administration;
  • Experience in EDA tool administration, or related roles is a plus;
  • Experience in user support and troubleshooting within an educational or research environment;
  • Prior involvement in lab class support and research project assistance is advantageous;
  • Familiarity with academic program administration and learning platforms is a plus.

3. Knowledge: 

  • Strong knowledge of digital integrated circuit (IC) design principles, including digital logic design, verification, physical design, and prototyping;
  • Familiarity with industry-standard IC design tools and software;
  • Understanding of microelectronics and semiconductor technologies.

4. Skills

  • Proficiency in English for effective communication and documentation;
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash, Tcl/Tk) for automation and task simplification;
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues;
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for effective user support;
  • Attention to detail in maintaining accurate records and documentation;
  • Project management skills to coordinate software updates and system enhancements
